Pete Stone talks leadership with Lord David Blunkett

As the pandemic response begins to change gear, we’re speaking with those advising Government policy

Sionic Chief Strategy Officer Pete Stone today joined a select group of eight business leaders from across the UK to discuss the leadership implications of the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic with former UK Secretary of State, Lord David Blunkett.

The discussion was organised the Leaders’ Council of Great Britain and Northern Ireland of which Sionic is a member.  Fellow participants came from the education, health and different business sectors.

As an expert in learning and development Pete Stone asked Lord Blunkett about whether the global crisis had made clear the need for a new and different style of leadership and capability, one that is adaptive, not just technical.  Lord Blunkett agreed that the ‘keep it simple’ approach now needed to transition into a more nuanced and a more positive approach as countries and business start to emerge from the crisis and face the demands and opportunities of a new environment.
