Sionic Scores a Double Shortlisting in the Inaugural Asset Servicing Times Industry Excellence Awards

We’re celebrating John Byrne and Sharde McCorkle – both finalists in these prestigious new industry awards

Sionic Managing Partner John Byrne and Sionic Director Sharde McCorkle, both from Sionic’s industry-leading Banking & Markets Practice have both been shortlisted in the inaugural Asset Servicing Times – Industry Excellence Awards. John is shortlisted for the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award‘ and Sharde is shortlisted for ‘Asset Servicing Rising Star 2021‘.

Sionic CEO Craig Sher comments:

The whole of Sionic is extremely proud of both John and Sharde. We know from the organisers that they made it onto these shortlists under fierce competition, although we are not at all surprised to see them there: both are highly respected by clients and colleagues alike.

John Byrne has dedicated his life to people and to financial services.  He is an impressive industry figure, with a forty-year track record of leading organisations in over 40 countries, partnering with global technology firms to drive transformation, while also fostering good governance and focusing on people and their wellbeing.

While at a different stage of her career, Sharde McCorkle has a similarly broad impact, leading a wide range of programmes planning, developing and implementing streamlined corporate actions platforms and overhauling legacy systems for large broker-dealers.

Remarkably, Sharde and John also both find time to make a considerable personal contribution to our firm, far beyond their day jobs, especially through our global Diversity & Inclusion Committee.  We wish them both good luck – and we are all excited to see what the November results bring!

The Asset Servicing Times – Industry Excellence Awards winners will be announced at an awards ceremony due to be held in London on Tuesday November 16th 2021.
