Sionic Expands Global Leadership Team in New Jersey and Toronto

Congratulations to both our two new Managing Partners: Jason Millard in New Jersey and Robert Cranmer in Toronto

Following our first global promotions, Sionic has today announced the expansion of its senior management team, with the promotion of both Jason Millard (in our New Jersey office) and Robert Cranmer (based in Toronto) from Partner to Managing Partner. Sionic now has a total of 23 Managing Partners based across the firm’s eleven offices in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Jason Millard is a change delivery expert, interim manager and senior management coach supporting global firms in achieving their strategic change agenda. In 2015 he returned to New York and joined Sionic Advisors after 20 years in London. During his career Jason held senior positions within Finance, Operations and IT at BNP Paribas and UBS in the US and London as well as JP Morgan, Rabobank and Catalyst Development Ltd.

Robert Cranmer is a capital markets expert specialising in business operations, regulation, transformation and change. He first joined Sionic as a Partner in 2019 from his previous role as Deloitte’s National Leader for Capital Markets in Canada. Born in the UK but having grown-up in South Africa, Robert has lived and worked worldwide, holding roles in London, Singapore and South Africa, before moving to Canada in 2015. His previous career includes re-building Accenture’s Capital Markets capability across the major banks in South Africa, serving as Chief Operating Officer for Global Group Risk & Global Head of Business Continuity for Investec Bank; and as Front-Office Chief Operating Officer for Absa Capital (a division of Barclays Capital). Outside work, Robert is an accomplished sailor, scuba diver, mentor-coach and musician.

Robert says “I joined Sionic knowing that the business model was differentiated from traditional consultancies. One year in I absolutely see the benefit of the business model especially to our clients as we bring experienced, relevant resources who understand their business and their challenges, and deliver value-add solutions. I am happy to be part of this fast-growing firm.”

Craig Sher, Sionic CEO adds

Sionic is a dynamic firm and both these senior promotions were proposed long before Coronavirus took hold. Although none of us could have foreseen these circumstances, I have no doubt that extraordinary times call for exceptional leaders. I am therefore doubly delighted to welcome both Robert and Jason to our leadership team. Each has a rare combination of outstanding business acumen, subject matter expertise and people management skill.

These are also just very good people to be around.  As a firm, Sionic is proud to be sector-leading experts in leadership, as well as finance and we are unrelentingly committed to supporting our sector during, and beyond the current challenges.  I can think of no-one better placed than Robert and Jason to join our leadership team as we work with our clients, global teams and each other, to front-up to the present and build a strong future, together.”
