Sionic signs up to LPEA – the Luxembourg Private Equity & Venture Capital Association

We’re celebrating our new membership of one of Luxembourg’s leading industry bodies

Six months after opening its Sionic-Luxembourg base, Sionic has announced its new membership of LPEA – the Luxembourg Private Equity & Venture Capital Association, which “represents, promotes and protects the interest of the Luxembourg private equity and venture capital industry.”

Originally created in 2010 by a leading group of private equity and venture capital players in Luxembourg, LPEA now has 280 members and plays a leading role locally actively promoting PE and VC in Luxembourg.

The Sionic-Luxembourg team focus on the fast-growing ‘closed-ended’ fund administration sector, covering activity in the highly specialist areas of private equity, real estate, infrastructure, debt, venture capital and the associated ‘fund of funds’, working with a range of clients in global, domestic and private banks, custody and depositary services, insurers and payment institutions located in Luxembourg. The team is lead by Sionic Managing Partner Paul Bratch, an international expert in closed-ended fund administration and a specialist in the associated operating models, service providers and systems.

Paul comments:

“Luxembourg is a leading global centre for private equity and venture capital and a great base for financial services firms. I’m delighted to be part of LPEA – an organisation which plays such an active role in promoting the funds industry across a broad range of audiences both locally and internationally.

It’s quite tough to be admitted as an LPEA member, with a process that includes both an interview and a written submission. But in my eyes, that makes LPEA doubly worth joining: they take their role seriously and they want their members to be active contributors to their work.

I’m also particularly pleased to have joined two key committees, both of which have a strategic focus: the Central Intelligence Committee, where I have already started to help gather industry metrics around the current and projected size of the Luxembourg private equity market, and also the ESG Committee, which is focused on some of the most important topics of our day, for any location, and any sector.

I’m looking forward to playing my part and really delighted Sionic is an LPEA member.”
