Catalyst’s Technology expert Jonathan Hammond participated in a panel discussion  ‘GDPR: concerns and remedies’ at PIMFA GDPR Conference 18th May.

The one day conference explored the various aspects of the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation.  Topics included:

  • Regulators’ approach to data
  • Policy and politics
  • IP implications
  • Actions to take
  • GDPR and MiFID II overlaps
  • International impact

On an engaging panel, Jonathan covered some of the IT implications and considerations including the detection of data breaches; the technical impact of the right to erasure; the concept of privacy by design, as well as data protection impact assessments (DPIA).
